Happy Birthday, Mom!

June 20th was my lovely mother's birthday! Let me show you how we celebrated!

First, we brought her a beautiful, delicious breakfast!

Strawberry and Cream Croissants

Those were for us all to share, we had an individual fruit tart specifically for her.

The feasting did not stop there! As she had lunch with her good friend Jen, we prepared our stomachs for round two...Joe's Farm Grill, Joe's BBQ, AND Liberty Market! Mmmm!

If we are in town, these places are a must on birthdays. You receive $10 credit at both Joe's establishments and one free dessert from Liberty Market! Definitely a must on your special day. Typically you could spread this out throughout the day, but we just did one glorious run, brought it home, and ate merrily.

It was a lovely day with a lovely woman! How do you celebrate your birthday?

The "Oops, we haven't checked your blog in a while..." Update

As per usual, it is blazing hot this week! Our errands were accompanied by this kind of heat -

Yuck!

We escape this by playing an immense amount of games! Including one of our favorites - Mario Kart 64

Whether it's Party, Kart, Golf, Galaxy...Mario-anything is great fun. I also enjoy Animal Crossing, Harvest Moon, The Sims, Wii Fit, Wii Sports, F-Zero GX, Super Smash Bros. Melee, and Metroid Prime. To name a few.

Anyways, this week we shopped and attended my pump-refill appointment!

I have a pump that releases Baclofen into my system, which helps my muscles relax. Going to these appointments is quite an adventure. My twin drives us to Phoenix and her narration while speeding through the city makes it all that more fun!

That's all for now. Next blog post is featuring my beautiful mother! Today is her birthday and we have all kinds of fun activities planned. :)

Happy Birthday + Diploma!

First of all, Happy Birthday to my sweet sister, Andrea! She is an incredible mother, sister, daughter, photographer...Just a lovely person overall! Hope your special day is as special as you are.

Next, I finally picked up my high school diploma! They had to unlock a safe to give it to me, I was so excited!

Gilbert High School had a great program while I attended and I enjoyed my time there...Although the classroom was a fun place to be, my favorite part of the day was riding the yellow school bus!

In other news, I'm looking into The Miracle League of Arizona and other fun summer activities! With MLAZ I get to play baseball and other sports on a team! They even have a custom designed rubberized turf to allow easy maneuverability for wheelchairs. Pretty sweet. I'll be sure to share the experience once we check it out.
If you have any suggestions on how to enjoy a sweltering summer, please share!

Introduction + Music Monday

Hello everyone! My name is Erik. I am 22 years young and enjoy life from my awesome wheelchair. I'm also a twin, brother, son, nephew, and uncle. I have cerebral palsy but that doesn't stop me from enjoying life with my family and friends. If you want to keep up with my everyday expeditions - this is the place to do it!

2014 has been an exciting year. My twin sister moved back to Arizona after living in California and having her back has been a blast! We play video games, go for walks around the park, and shop throughout town. One of our favorite activities is cooking together and trying new recipes. We'll make sure to publish our chaotic but fun kitchen experiments. She also helps me write this blog! My other youngest sister joins us when she isn't at her friend's house or in school. I have two other sisters who live out-of-state, I miss them...when we're united it's a party! I'm blessed with great parents as well, who make sure I'm always happy and healthy. Life is good!

Anyways, you'll learn more about me later. One more fact I want to include is that I love music! Spotify, Pandora, iTunes, Music Choice, you name it, I'm listening to it. Here's my favorite track of the week -
